Welcome to the Rainbow room where we cater for children 18 – 30 months on a 1:3/1:4 ratio. Each child has an allocated key person who supports their individual learning using the EYFS guidance. Exciting experiences and challenging activities are planned for based on their interests providing the best opportunities for them to learn.
Our environment provides 7 areas of learning which they can freely access providing continuous provision, adult and child directed play/activities, group times and social mealtimes.
Key person responsible for :
- Individual care (support with meal times, nappy toileting care, comfort & cuddles)
- Support their crucial milestones of learning through play (7 areas of the EYFS)
- Liaising with parent/carer verbally on a daily basis for consistency of care for your child.

8.30-9.15 Outdoor play –
9.15-9.45 Handwashing / Snack –“Hello song”, –Children are offered snack as a group to encourage positive table manners.
9.45-10.45 Continuous provision- indoors (outdoors weather permitting)
10.45-11.00 Tidy up time/ set up lunches
11.00-11.15 Story / song time /Handwashing
11.15-12.00 Lunch – Children are encouraged and supported to use a spoon and fork, and a cup with no lid.
12.00-1.30 Rest/Sleep – Children have their own bedding and are soothed by staff members to go to sleep, those not sleeping will be able to have a rest period and do quiet activities
12.00-1.30 Outdoor play/ indoor free flow (low key)
1.30-2.00 Tidy up time, hand washing / nnack
2.00-3.00 Continuous provision- indoors (outdoor area weather permitting)
3.00-3.15 Tidy up time 3.15-3.30 Story / song time /Hand washing
3.30-4.00 High Tea
4..15-5.15 Free flow in/outdoors – low key
5.15-5.45 Tidy up / story / songs / hand washing
5.45-6.00 Evening snack
6.00-6.30 Low key focused activity / shut down / set up for following day
* Nappies/ toileting and milk feeds/sleeps are met individually by the child’s key person.
